Services
Bloom Psychology provides assessment, intervention, and post-assessment support for children, adolescents, and families. Our services are designed to meet families at different points in their journey and to provide the right level of support at the right time.
1
Assessment
Bloom offers a range of psychological assessments to better understand learning, cognition, and social-emotional functioning. An assessment can provide clarity around strengths and needs and help guide effective supports at home, at school, and in the community.

Assessment services include:
-
Psycho-educational assessments
-
Gifted assessments
-
Behavioural and social-emotional assessments
-
Reading Risk Assessment
Reading Risk Assessments are short screenings designed to identify early indicators of reading difficulty. They do not replace a full psycho-educational assessment.

Not all students require a full assessment. The most appropriate level of assessment depends on the referral question and the child’s needs.
2
Literacy Intervention
Bloom provides specialized, research-driven intervention for students of all ages, including those with dyslexia. We use a structured literacy approach informed by the science of reading, with explicit, systematic instruction in reading, spelling, and written language.

While our approach integrates principles from the Orton-Gillingham method, intervention is always tailored to the individual learner based on assessment findings. Ongoing observation and progress monitoring guide our practice. For more information about our methods, click here.
3
Post Assessment Support
Some families find that, even after receiving a comprehensive assessment, it can be difficult to know how to prioritize recommendations or decide what to do next.

Bloom offers a Post-Assessment Learning Action Plan for families who would benefit from additional support translating assessment findings into clear, manageable next steps for home, school, and intervention. This service focuses on understanding, prioritization, and planning, and does not involve re-testing or re-diagnosis.

This service is optional and may be helpful for families who completed an assessment with Bloom or with another clinic and are seeking guidance in moving forward.

Families enter at different points and require different levels of support. We are happy to help determine which services, if any, are the best fit for your situation.
